The card bus version has a 32-bit type II interface, while the parallel version is a printer interface specifically designed for use in the parallel ports on printers. The PC card interface transfers data at three megabytes per second, while the card bus interface transfers data at 28 megabytes per second. The parallel cable on the other hand transfers one-megabyte data per second. The latter is compatible with DOS and Windows 3.x.
