The GemPC433-Swap is a smart card reader component that is plugged into the Universal Serial Bus interface port of the host computer system. It is intended to work in conjunction with the smart card reader manager of the host computer system. Installation of the device driver is required to provide the communication layer for the attached hardware component and the host machine. However, depending on the host computer system, the computer user may need to have administrative privileges prior to the execution of the device driver. Once properly installed in the host computer system the device driver initially checks if the smart card service of the underlying operating system is currently running. Although by default the service should be running automatically, there may be instances wherein it may have been turned off. The behavior of the service may also depend on the version of the operating system that is currently active in the host machine.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The hardware component is supported by the Plug and Play functionality that is commonly found in newer graphical user interface based operating system environments. Once connected it allows the host operating system to detect its presence. Since the GemPC433-Swap provides a proprietary technology to the host computer system the operating system platform cannot provide a generic device driver to make it functional. The device driver is also responsible for providing the host operating system environment with the necessary details that will allow it and other installed software applications to take advantage of the hardware component's presence. When properly installed into the host machine the GemPC433-Swap should be seen in the explorer component of the operating system platform. The data provided by the device driver is normally stored into a centralized registry database that is used to evaluate device driver updates. The information will allow the underlying operating system to identify if the driver update is compatible with the attached hardware component. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and GemPC433-Swap errors before installing any driver updates.
