The GW-US300MiniS is a wireless mini USB adapter. It is compatible with the 802.11b and the 802.11g standards. It makes use of the powerful MIMO technology which has further coverage but has less dead spots and a higher throughput. When the GW-US300MiniS is trying to connect to the standard 802.11b or the 802.11g APs or router, it is able to perform at a better rate compared to other standard stations. In addition, the GW-US300MiniS is also able to support a higher data throughput than that of the 802.11g standard which is up to 300 Mbps. The GW-US300MiniS also has a wireless client which supports the operating system of Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000. This device also functions as a PC/NB to be able to connect to the Internet. It also complies with 802.11n Draft 2.0, IEEEE 802.11b, and IEEE 802.11g standards. The GW-US300MiniS supports 2.0/1.1/1.0 interface. The GW-US300MiniS also supports 64/128-bit WEP, WPA, WPA-TKIP, WPA2, WPA2-AES. It also supports WMM, WMM-PS and WMM-SA (IEEE802.11e QoS standard).
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The GW-US300MiniS device supports WPS for Wi-Fi protected set-ups. With this device, users can easily setup a wireless Internet connection and assign security settings. However, this feature is only supported by Windows XP and Windows 2000. This device comes with the support software AP but it does not allow any forwarding among clients. Even if users are connected with the same AP, they still cannot transmit information to each other. The advantage is that this function can provide more security to users. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and GW-US300MiniS errors before installing any driver updates.
