The device driver for the HP DesignJet ColorPro CAD is an information and layout file which can be used by third party developers to provide extended support to operating system environments which are not inherently compatible. Normally when the printer hardware is connected to the appropriate communication port its presence is automatically detected by the underlying operating system platform and prompts the computer user to install the corresponding device driver. In case the operating system is not included in the list of supported systems then the printer hardware will not become operational. The hardware component remains incompatible and useless. The only limitation to the creation of third party support based on the device driver provided by the manufacturer is that in most instances they are not made available as freeware and require programmers to pay for fees. The information provided by the device driver will also help the operating system to identify if the currently installed support files are obsolete and need an update.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The HP DesignJet ColorPro CAD is designed to cater to the more demanding needs of Computer Aided Design software applications. In this context when the supported hardware component is attached, the computer user has the option of explicitly identifying its presence directly from the menu options of the supported Computer Aided Design program. In this process the hardware component is normally identified as a type of plot device which can output designs and drawings. As part of the functionality built into the HP DesignJet ColorPro CAD by its manufacturer, the device driver allows the computer user to configure it in such a way that it can take advantage of TCP/IP ports for printing. The TCP/IP port is based on a protocol that is commonly associated with computer networks and is the same protocol used by majority of computer systems to connect to the Internet. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and HP DesignJet ColorPro CAD errors before installing any driver updates.
