The HP ScanJet 3p is a desktop scanning hardware that is capable of delivering 300 dots per inch maximum resolution. The entire package provided by this hardware component integrates the functionality of scanning, image placement, and image editing as well into one user interface to simplify the scanning process. It is designed scanning solutions for computer environments that require moderate scanning needs along with the capability to manage, fax, and copy documents based on a bundled utility that is equally supported by the manufacturer provided device driver. Essentially computer users tend to concentrate of scanning resolution and bit-depth properties when considering scanning devices. However, what can be considered as more important especially for home computing environments is the simplicity of use without necessarily burdening the computer user with the technical details of the scanning process. The HP ScanJet 3p provides the computer user with the flexibility of using an Optical Character Recognition software application that allows for conversion of scanned textual images into their editable format.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
Another important functionality provided by the HP ScanJet 3p and its corresponding device driver is the implementation of interpolation based on its proprietary technology. Generally the term interpolation relates to the improvement of the quality of the scanned image compared to those acquired using Charge Coupled Device. The higher resolutions are basically obtained digitally from the Charge Coupled Device generated resolution. The higher resolution achieved by the device driver of the supported scanning hardware component is achieved by discarding some of the pixels created by the Charge Coupled Device. Older scanning devices implemented a technique known as pixel doubling which created more pixels but unfortunately also resulted in more pronounced jagged edges. By supporting the implementation of the interpolation technique the device driver of the HP ScanJet 3p allows for the selection of the grayscale values based on the midway value of its neighboring pixels. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and HP ScanJet 3p errors before installing any driver updates.
