The NVIDIA Dualview video card has various multi-display modes. These include the clone mode and the horizontal/vertical spanning (up to 2 monitors) and the Multiview spanning mode for up to 16 monitors. The last mode is only available for Quadro GPUs running Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT4. It features an Overlayed Display Configuration user interface which allows users to easily change display modes. It's set up wizard is comprised of a multi-display configuration and desktop management tool. For desktop management, the user can create load, save, import, and export profiles of all nView functionality. The user can also manage his windows through window control and repositioning to prevent windows from opening off-screen and to enable /disable window from spanning across displays. Application management per application and global management, as well as application extensions which include the Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft PowerPoint slide show viewer are also featured in this tool. The user also has the option to create multiple desktops (32 for NVIDIA Quadro, 16 for GeForce) with this device.

The NVIDIA Dualview video card can also customize the user's desktop settings. These settings include name, background wallpaper, display mode (single display, Dualview, span, etc.) and the actual display settings (resolution, color depth, and refresh rate). The desktop name can also be overlaid when switching desktops. Additional effects that come with this device are transparent windows and taskbar, window color keying (NVIDIA Quadro only) and the option to allow taskbar spanning in Dualview mode (NVIDIA Quadro GPUs only).
