Pathlight VX is an enterprise level backup solution with incorporated disk-to-tape. This design has been created to improve the current data backup as well as the restoration process by giving the user benefits of using disks while at the same time maintaining the long term capabilities of data protection. With this product, the applications of tape backup which are in existence can achieve RAID reliability as well as disk performance through use of serial ATA disk arrays. These are used for primary backup as well as restoring tasks without the need to alter the backup software or the prevailing processes. Also, there is an incorporated data mover which inscribes the data to tape and also uses the original format of the backup application as well as the policies of media management to facilitate disaster recovery along with retention for a long period of time.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The configuration of Pathlight VX is defined by a 4.2 TB disk capacity, a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6 virtual libraries. The restore path for this product can be from the disk or it can be directly to the host from tape. It can also be from the tape to the host through the disk. This product functions using ATA technology (comes with capabilities of hot swapping). This product features a maximum transfer rate of 1.2TB/hr and scales from a minimum of 10TB to a maximum of 40 TB. It is capable of writing to physical tape within the background and uses the disk primarily as a performance source for restore operations. Pathlight VX provides Backup to disk thereby enabling high performance as well as RAID reliability. Also, disk storage is presented as logical tape drives, library and media to backup applications. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Pathlight VX errors before installing any driver updates.
