The SHARP DM-3501 PPD is a printing hardware component which supports the implementation of a PostScript Printer Description file. This type of support component is used by Original Equipment Manufacturers to help define the complete feature sets and capabilities built into their products. The device driver which supports the PostScript Printer Description specification may contain command strings that will be used to activate special functionalities of the printing device at run time. The PostScript Printer Description file may also act as a unified device interface for all printing hardware components covering its capabilities and functionalities. In some instances the device driver may also act by allowing the implementation of PostScript printing functionality for devices that do not inherently support the feature. In this context the device driver can be viewed as capable of extending the built-in feature sets of the supported hardware component.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
By adhering to the PostScript Printer Description standards the device driver may be used to describe the various properties and attributes of the supported hardware component. The device driver of the SHARP DM-3501 PPD is responsible for explicitly defining the font types supported, allowable paper size, printing resolution, and other similar attributes which will affect how the printing process will be completed. The device driver helps the supported hardware component to determine how to successfully complete a print job request issued by the host computer system. Failing to implement the correct device driver may result in a failed print job or erroneous print output. In some instances the print job may finish successfully but not all defined properties are correctly represented like for example a word which must be in italics may not print as such. These features are part of the basic functionality of the device driver which is to maintain a communication link with the host machine. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and SHARP DM-3501 PPD errors before installing any driver updates.
