Windows device driver information for StorageWorks MSA1000

This hardware component is designed as a two gigabyte fiber channel storage system that is commonly deployed in entry level to midrange computer systems. This storage area network solution is meant to reduce associated complexities, expenses, and even risks identified with this storage solution. The StorageWorks MSA1000 is defined as a Modular Smart Array solution which is scalable but capable of delivering high performance storage systems for various types of computing environments. The functionality of this hardware component is supported by the installation of the appropriate device driver. The StorageWorks MSA1000 itself has a user interface that features controller display indicators for the efficient monitoring of supported storage devices. The status indicator lights are triggered by the device driver based on the interaction between the supported hardware component and the attached devices. Electrical interfaces featured in the device covers Low Voltage Differential SCSI to hard drives.

Outdated Drivers?

Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.

To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates

The device driver of the StorageWorks MSA1000 supports the HP Ultra2, Ultra3, and the Ultra320 protocols with a drive configuration ranging from three up to 42 hard drives. In terms of logical drives the device driver supports a maximum of 32 logical drives with RAID configuration support for advanced data guarding, distributed data guarding, stripping and mirroring, explicit stripping, and explicit stripping. The device driver of the StorageWorks MSA1000 also works in conjunction with the optional Modular Smart Array Hub which is capable of interconnecting low cost node clusters or even simple server attachments. The device driver can also support Storage Area Network switches which are optional hardware components which can be deployed with the StorageWorks MSA1000 device. The switch can provide the computer user with a cost effective solution for multiple clusters. A secondary switch can be installed for the implementation of redundancy. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and StorageWorks MSA1000 errors before installing any driver updates.
