The VIA Ultra VLINK Controller is used to connect the north bridge and the south bridge components of the computer motherboards. By enabling the software driver associated with the VIA Ultra VLINK Controller the flow of data across the computer system becomes relatively faster. Essentially in every computer system there is a north bridge and a south bridge which are represented by chips. These chips are designed to control both the input and the output processes that are sent to and from the main processor of the computer system. The VIA Ultra VLINK Controller and its associated software driver therefore are largely responsible for determining the overall performance of the motherboard in relation to the speed of execution of the entire computer system. In computer systems the motherboard serves as the main connector for all attached internal and external components.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The south bridge chipsets of the computer system is designed to handle the ICH of Platform Controller Hub when referencing an Intel processor based machine. This portion of the motherboard is responsible for the slower functionalities and is commonly not directly linked to the main processor. The link of the south bridge to the processor is delivered by the north bridge which directly affects the signals to the processor. By activating the VIA Ultra VLINK Controller using the related software driver, the access and data control features of the motherboard are enhanced resulting in a better communication layer between the two data bridges. In newer computer systems the VIA Ultra VLINK Controller can be set to a value of 8x which provides a wider and better communication highway compared to the older PCI bus with lesser bottlenecks performance wise. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and VIA Ultra VLINK Controller errors before installing any driver updates.
