Voodoo2 3D is a device that improves the performance of Voodoo Graphics to achieve a new level of operation characterized by a multiplicity of textures for each pixel, higher resolutions, and a larger number of frames produced per second. The device has a new feature that enables it to use two similar cards to improve performance. It has a Scan Line Interleaving function that enables use of a single card display with odd number fields, and another that makes use of even digit fields. This unique ability enables the Voodoo2 3D device to produce as much as 100 frames for every second if it is used with two 3-dimensional Blaster Voodoo2 tag cards. The 3-D feature in the Blaster Voodoo2 is extensive. The device also has a bump-mapping feature that is analogous to mapping in Phong bump, with an incorporated anti-aliasing edge feature that eliminates jagged edges.
Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face hardware performance issues.
To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates
The multiplicity of textures for every pixel displayed by the Voodoo2 3D device enhances visuals by adding more color to them. Other special features added by the device include shadows and reflections. Additionally, the Blaster Voodoo2 feature supports other unique functionalities such as MIP mapping, transparency, Z-buffering, and many others. The device can be used by game lovers to create mist and fog using its PCI bus support and a 32 MB graphics card. However, it does not support a TV out functionality. The Voodoo2 3D device has other interesting features like an ability to support 2D and 3D graphics, which enables it to exhibit high performance in displaying animations and other motion pictures. The limitation of the device is that it only supports 16-bit color, implying that any graphic above this limit will not be effectively displayed. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Voodoo2 3D errors before installing any driver updates.
