Windows device driver information for Windows 4D USB Trackball

The Windows 4D USB Trackball is an optical mouse device that utilizes a plug and play driver. It has a high speed, single ball, optical 4D scroll for detecting movement. This optical mouse device also has 4D page scrolling feature that can be easily controlled by a user’s thumb. It is also ergonomically designed to prevent muscle and wrist injuries. It has a resolution of 200 dots per inch (DPI), an optional USB connector and a PS/2 interface. The optical mouse device was developed in 1999 by Agilent Technologies. An optical mouse device such as the Windows 4D USB Trackball makes use of a small camera for capturing 1500 images per second. It is capable of functioning in almost all surfaces and has a tiny, red LED (light emitting diode) that can bounce light off surfaces onto a CMOS (complimentary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor.

To check your drivers you should manually verify every device on your system for driver updates

This CMOS sensor utilized by the Windows 4D USB Trackball mouse device can send every image to a DSP (digital signal processor) to be analyzed. This DSP functions at 18 million instructions per second (MIP) and is capable of sensing patterns contained in images to determine how the patterns have changed since the image prior to it. This DSP is capable of determining the movement of the mouse based primarily on the sequence of images’ pattern changes and sending the movements’ coordinates to the PC. The PC then places the cursor on the PC’s screen based on mouse’s delivered coordinates. This operation occurs 100/s (100 times per second) making the movement of the cursor appear smooth and seamless. Optical mouse devices such as the Windows 4D USB Trackball have some advantages over wheeled mouse devices. Among others, optical mouse devices do not need a special surface, making them more flexible than wheeled mouse devices and they have a higher tracking resolution, which results in smoother response. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and Windows 4D USB Trackball errors before installing any driver updates.
