The ZTE NMEA Device (COM16) is a modem that is provided for by the ZTE Company, which is a device that is capable of self-installation in Windows operating systems. The way the ZTE NMEA Device (COM16) device works is by plugging in the card and it is detected in Windows as a mass storage device, much in the same way as the USB cards. Then the drivers that are utilized by this device are installed, which are most likely pre-installed in the system. When the drivers have been installed, they detect the card as some sort of data interface, which is observable in the Device Manager. The drivers for the device is then searched for to locate the interface, and more than likely, it is located on the modem which, at the moment, is identified as a storage device and the interface is installed from here.

With the ZTE NMEA Device (COM16), there are three different data interfaces, which are required for installation. This then will look like the installation is in three phases of ‚Äö√Ñ√∫Add Hardware‚Äö√Ñ√π wizard for the three items. After the installation is complete, they will be recognized as ZTE Proprietary USB Modem, which is identified under the Modem section of the ‚Äö√Ñ√∫Device Manager‚Äö√Ñ√π, as ZTE NMEA Device and as ZTE Diagnostics Interface in the section of ‚Äö√Ñ√∫Ports‚Äö√Ñ√π. The drivers that are installed for usage with this device are supposed to be observed frequently so that it is established that they are not outdated or corrupt in any way. If they have become outdated, it is recommended that they be updated and the updates can be located from the manufacturers site or its affiliate sites. The updating of the driver should at least be after every month. It is highly recommended you run a free registry scan for and ZTE NMEA Device (COM16) errors before installing any driver updates.
