Editor and creator of Equation

MathType is an educational desktop software developed by Design Science. The graphical editor can only be used to create mathematical equations in a fully graphical What you See Is What you Get environment or WYSIWYG. This allows you to directly enter mathematical markup languages like TeX, LaTeX and MathML. It can also be integrated with other office and productivity programs like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint and Apple Pages. You can quickly add formulas and equations to your documents by collaborating with these desktop programs. MathType for Windows works with Windows 7 and newer, as well as Microsoft Office 2007.

Capabilities

MathType's purpose is to assist users in preparing mathematical equations. The program offers a wide range of tools that will help you create equations that meet publication standards, regardless of whether the content will appear as technical formulas or textbooks. MathType allows you to specify which equations were written on the platform, as well as collaboration with other authors and post production staff.

It allows users to work more efficiently because it conforms to international math typesetting conventions. This ensures consistency and quality in your work. These tools can be accessed via different integrated platforms. It is able to edit formulas created using Microsoft Equation 3.0 or Microsoft OMML equation editor. If you use MathType with MS Word you will find the MathType ribbon in the word processor.

It can insert inline and display, convert and format all Word documents, include references and numbered equations, type LaTeX directly on Word documents, and include references to numbered equations. MathType can recognize at least 800 programs, websites, web applications, and programs. It can also plot software and computer algebra systems. It can also integrate with any program that requires an equation editor.

Options for customization

MathType's main feature is its WYSIWYG layout. This allows users to immediately begin using the program with the tools in the toolbars. After you are familiar with the program, it is possible to customize it to suit your needs. Shortcuts, styling and output translators can all be customized to suit your formatting preferences, including alignment, font styles, spacing, and other customization options that can be sourced from integrated programs. The toolbar can contain the most used formulae.

Instead of typing the formula over and over, you can choose it from the toolbar. The large selection of fonts and other formatting styles will help you match the equation's appearance to the rest of your document. It can also be used for making the equation stand out. There are a number of styles that are most commonly found in education or reference books. You can also choose from multiple preference styles to be able to use different styles in one project.

Editor for equations with full-featured features

MathType is a suite of products that you can use for editing equations. These can be simple algebraic equations that are used in primary and secondary education, or complex formulas that are recognized by professionals in the industry. Its compatibility allows it to be used with other productivity programs, making its capabilities available to all authors. They can use it with other programs or on MathType itself to apply equations to documents.
