If you wish to open, edit, save, and export documents, workbooks, or presentations created in older versions of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, download and install* this compatibility package. Scroll down for instructions and system requirements.

The Compatibility Pack can be installed alongside Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP or Office 2003 to allow you to open, edit and save files using file formats from newer versions of Word and Excel. To view files in these new formats, the Compatibility Pack can be used with Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003 and Excel Viewer 2003.

Download the Compatibility Pack's administrative template for Word, Excel and PowerPoint converters. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack SP2 has been updated. The updated Compatibility Pack also removes custom XML tags from.DOCX and.DOCM files when they are opened in Word 2003.

*All users of Microsoft Office XP or 2003 programs Word, Excel, and PowerPoint must install all High-Priority updates viaMicrosoft Update prior to installing the Compatibility Pack.
