Free network speed monitor

NetSpeedMonitor, a free program that monitors your internet speed on Microsoft Windows accessories, is available for download. Net Speed Monitor will display the download and upload speeds in the system tray on the desktop screen. NSM was originally designed for older Microsoft OS versions, but you can use it on the most recent Windows OS.

What is NetSpeedMonitor?

NetSpeedMonitor, a lightweight tool, keeps track of your download and upload bandwidth from the taskbar on your computer. You can use NSM on Windows 8 or later OSs by setting the utility to run under compatibility mode in the system properties window.

The platform is compatible with both 32-bit and 64 bit processors. You can also choose the 86 download if you are unable to find the 32-bit option. NetSpeedMonitor can be used on PCs.

Antivirus tests have shown that the freeware does NOT contain malware. The ad-free platform won't record your personal data. Although the security status is excellent, you will need some assistance in setting up the app.

How do I install NetSpeedMonitor

If your version of Windows is older than Windows 7, you will be notified by NetSpeedMonitor that your OS is not compatible. The main window will also announce that the Setup Wizard was terminated prematurely. To access the NSM properties, you can close both announcements.

Right-click on the NetSpeedMonitor file from the Windows Start Menu. The context menu will allow you to open the Properties' settings. A tabbed window will open. To mark the box next "Run this program under compatibility mode" you can go to the tab 'Compatibility'. The drop-down menu in the 'Compatibility Mode' section should read "Previous version Windows".

To confirm the configuration, you can click the 'Apply" button at the bottom. Once you have adjusted the system requirements to your Windows OS, the Setup Wizard will allow you to install NetSpeedMonitor. Follow the prompts on screen to complete the installation. You can donate via PayPal if you wish to financially support the installer.

NSM will not automatically appear in the taskbar. The executable file must be located within the Start Menu. After double-clicking the.exe file, you can tap 'Yes' and confirm that the NetSpeedMonitor toolbar is to be found within the taskbar. A simple setup menu will open to allow you to select your language, network interface, and traffic logging preferences.

How can you use NetSpeedMonitor

The Net Speed Monitor will appear in the bottom right corner of your system tray. The current download and upload speeds can be seen. The letters D and U stand for download. When you hover over the live statistics, a popup will open. You can customize NSM further by right clicking on the toolbar.

The context menu allows you to toggle the monitoring notice on and off. You can modify your system preferences by pressing 'Configuration'. You can edit the database and layout using the tabbed interface. You can change the bitrate medium by expanding the drop-down menu under the 'General tab: kbit/s or MB/s.

Other services that monitor bandwidth

NetWorx and Du Meter are two applications that provide important information about your internet connection. Both apps can be downloaded and installed on Windows PCs. NetWorx is the most up-to-date software, while Du Meter is older than NetSpeedMeter.

With all the tools, you can monitor the network stats from the taskbar's right side. NetWorx provides a mini graph in the tray that allows you to visually see the bandwidth pattern.

Internet speed tracker in real-time

NetSpeedMonitor integrates with your taskbar to provide insights into your network connection. You can monitor your download and upload metrics, as they change. You can change the font appearance of NSM: bold, type, size, etc.

NSM does not receive any new software updates. Net Speed Monitor was originally developed by Florian Gilles for Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP OS. However, it has seen a resurgence in popularity among Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 users.
