Visual discovery engine

Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra and Evan Sharp created Pinterest, a visual discovery engine. Pinterest users can use it to find many ideas for interior design, fashion and recipes. There are billions of Pins and images, so you will be able to find inspiration or spark interest in a few posts. Once you have found them, you can save them to groups or boards so that you can refer to them whenever you need. You can also create your own Pins whenever something interests you online. You can download Pinterest's save button to your browser so that you can save it to your Pinterest account. Your followers will see what you have found.

Pins and boards

Pinterest for Windows is a web app that allows you to create and share Pins and Boards. Pins are visual bookmarks you can put together in a Board. Pins can be a key part of a Pinner's experience, allowing them to discover new content. A Pin is typically a JPG file created by a graphic designer or taken with a camera.

It can also be an image from a website or a video. If you wish to be redirected back to the original source, click on the multimedia file. You can think of boards as cork-boards. This is where you save and organize all your Pins. You can put anything on a board and anyone can view it - even you as the creator.

Public boards allow other Pinners to find it by searching for the same topic, or something similar. You can limit the number of viewers to your friends or followers, or to you alone. If you are looking for inspiration for something that you want to keep private, such as a birthday gift, surprise party or business idea, a private board is a great option.

Beyond personal use

You can also create a business account through Pinterest, just like you can on other social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. A business account on Pinterest can be used to promote products or services and get feedback through analytics. There are two options: convert your personal account, or start from scratch.

A business account requires the same information as a personal account, but you will need to add a website URL. This is because Pinterest allows you claim your website. This is important as it will allow you to access new tools, data, and a featured icon. You must know the HTML code of your website before you claim it.

Get inspired and learn new things

Pinterest for Windows is for those who are looking for inspiration via photos and infographics. Pinterest allows users to search for pins that play video, but it prioritizes still images in order to make it as easy as possible for them to find what they are looking for. This desktop application makes it easy to search for and access your pins without the need for a third-party app. If you're using it for professional purposes, you can make use of its features to learn more about your audience and which posts resonate with them.
