Arcade shooter game for free

Space Invaders was an arcade game that was originally played on Spectrum computers. This 8-bit personal computer was released in 1982. SplinterGU created an emulator to allow you to play this game on your Windows PC. This game is available for free.

Space Invaders arcade-style game lets you fight space invaders. There are rows upon rows of aliens above your head. You score when they hit one, but you lose one of your six lives if one hits your ship. The game supports up to two players. Space games include Spacegull (Ness) and Chicken Invaders (Ness).

How to play

Space Invaders can be played using the keyboard keys. To toggle between two players, use 1 or 2. H allows you to access the help menu. O, P and S are the keys to move left, right and shoot. Joystick support is also available in the game.

Your ship is located at the bottom of your screen, hiding beneath bridges to protect it from alien shots. These bridges will be your target. You can score 10, 20, or 30 points depending on which type of alien you hit. There are also mystery aliens. Their score is not known.

As you move through the levels, more aliens will be shooting at you. They'll also move faster. The scores are displayed at the top of the screen. The score for player one is shown on the left, while the hi-score is displayed in the middle. Player two's score is displayed on the right.

Sound and graphics

A beep sound is used to indicate shooting. These sounds are the same regardless of who is shooting. Sinclair and FullerBox are also available in the game.

All alien invaders are represented by different icons. All similar aliens are displayed in one row. The rows are stacked from aliens that have the lowest points (10) to those with the highest (30), while mystery invaders are in row 1. The bridges that you are hiding under are all green, as is your body.

A favorite old favorite on PC

Space Invaders is now available on Windows PC for those who still remember the arcade games. You can move and shoot using the simple controls, and you'll be able to defend Earth from the invaders.
